YouTube TV Offers a 7-Day Free Trial Of Max

TV Answer Man, do you know if Max offers a free trial? I want to check out a few shows like The White Lotus and Penguin but I really don’t know if I want to subscribe yet. – Bob, Cleveland.

Bob, Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max, offers three plans starting with the ads-included $9.99 a month package. There is also a $16.99 a month plan that does not include ads and a $20.99 a month package that offers 4K programming and no ads.

Unfortunately, the streamer does not offer a free trial at its web site. However, YouTube TV, the multi-channel live streaming service, is now offering new Max users a seven-day free trial of the $16.99 a month plan. (You must maintain a YouTube TV base subscription, which is $82.99 a month, to be eligible for the Max free trial.)

YouTube TV’s terms do not specifically define a Max ‘new user,’ but the streamer normally restricts promotional offers to consumers who have never subscribed to the service or participated in a free trial. The best way to find out if you are eligible for the free trial is to try signing up.

Also, YouTube TV is now offering $13 off each of the first six months of service, bringing the price to $69.99 a month during that time. Regular rates will apply if you don’t cancel prior to the end of the promotion.
