TV Answer Man, where can we watch The West Wing on streaming. It used to be on Max but they dropped it on New Year’s Day!! Why on earth would they do this to us? – Eileen, Arlington, Virginia.
Eileen, The West Wing, the NBC political drama which ran seven seasons from 1999 to 2006, starred Martin Sheen as the president of the United States with Rob Lowe, Bradley Whitford, Allison Janney and John Spencer as his WH aides. The show, which was created by Aaron Sorkin, became a quick favorite among the political set for its (relatively) realistic portrayal of the behind-the-scenes maneuvering and policy debates that precede legislative action.
Until January 1, 2025, all seven seasons of The West Wing was available on Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max. However, the streamer pulled the show on New Year’s Day with little notice. The decision prompted outrage among West Wing fans including a few who sent angry missives to yours truly. So, guess what?
It’s back. Max returned The West Wing to its lineup yesterday, again with little fanfare. You can once again watch all seven seasons.
Eileen, hope that helps. happy viewing and stay safe!
