Netflix, Hulu, Max, Amazon & Peacock to Add 25 New Titles This Weekend – Here Are the 3 Most Interesting

Netflix, Hulu, Max, Amazon’s Prime Video, Paramount Plus and Peacock plan to add 27 new TV shows and movies this weekend (December 26-29, 2024). Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion.

Squid Game, season two – Netflix original
Debuting the day after Christmas is season two of Netflix’s surprise hit, Squid Game, a drama featuring hundreds of broke contestants who go for broke by risking their lives for cash prizes in a game show. The South Korean-made series is a biting but sometimes inspiring commentary on class warfare and the human survival instinct. Debuts on Netflix on Thursday, December 26.

Nightbitch (2024) – Hulu
Amy Adams stars as a stay-at-home Mom who magically turns overnight into a dog (or, at least, so she thinks). The black comedy/horror film, which was directed by Marielle Heller, may sound like B-movie material more suited for a 1950s drive-in, but it’s actually a biting (pun alert) commentary on the difficulties of parenting and womanhood. And Adams, who is as fearless as any actress in town, is a hoot in the title role. Debuts on Hulu on Friday, December 27.

Thursday Night Football: Seattle at Chicago – Amazon
It’s not the most interesting matchup in Thursday Night Football history, but 8-7 Seattle is still clinging to a slim playoff hope and the 4-11 Bears have become well, interesting, thanks to rookie quarterback Caleb Williams who has thrown for more than 330 yards and multiple touchdowns in three games this season. Andrew Luck holds the record with four so Williams has two games left to tie or break it. Debuts Thursday, December 26. Pre-game coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET with kickoff around 8:15 p.m. ET.
