Netflix this week (December 15-21, 2024) plans to add 15 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Saucedo
Four years ago, a junior welterweight boxer named Alex Saucedo suffered a head butt in the ring, causing a brain injury and ending a promising career. (He was 30-2 and expected to soon land a title fight.) This Netflix original documentary examines how Saucedo was forced to rebuild his life, a challenge that many athletes face when the dream suddenly closes its door and real life walks in. Debuts Sunday, December 15.

The Dead Don’t Die (2019)
This zombie comedy boasts arguably the greatest cast of quirks ever assembled: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, Chloe Sevigny, Rosie Perez, Austin Butler, Iggy Pop, Carol Kane, Tom Waits, and Caleb Landry Jones. I’ve never seen the movie, but if it’s half as fun as what must have gone down on the set, it’s worth your time. Oh, and did I tell you that kooky Jim Jarmusch (Broken Flowers, Coffee and Cigarettes, Stranger Than Paradise) directed it? Debuts Monday, December 16.

Aaron Rodgers: Enigma
And speaking of quirky, this Netflix original documentary chronicles New York Jets QB1 Aaron Rodgers’ recovery from a 2023 Achilles injury and offers a reflection on his storied career and numerous controversies. Debuts Tuesday, December 17.
