Amazon’s Prime Video this week (December 15-21, 2024) plans to add three new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here’s a preview of all three:
Beast Games – Amazon Original
The social media goliath known as Mr. Beast will host a daredevil challenge with 1,000 contestants competing for a grand prize of $5 million. Not surprisingly, the show has already generated lawsuit threats and accusations of everything from sexual harassment to extremely dangerous conditions. Which means it will probably be a hit. Debuts Thursday, December 19.
Thursday Night Football: Denver at Los Angeles Chargers
This is a big one with the Broncos and Chargers now in a virtual four-way tie for one of the three AFC Wild Card spots. (Standings as of Sunday, December 15 before Sunday’s action.) ESPN’s Matchup Predictor is giving the Chargers a 59.4 percent chance of winning. Debuts Thursday, December 19.
The Creator (2023)
John David Washington stars in this sci-fi thriller as a special forces operator who’s hired to kill the creator of an Artificial Intelligence machine that could end a war started after a government-created AI device triggered a nuclear blast in Los Angeles. The film fared poorly at the box office, but many critics praised its cinematography and special effects. Debuts Thursday, December 19.
