Peacock this week (December 1-7, 2024) plans to add 92 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:
Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story (Peacock Original)
In a me-too world, it’s hard to believe that Girls Gone Wild ever existed, much less flourished. But flourish it did in the late 1990s thanks to Joe Francis, an entrepreneur who assembled a series of videos of inebriated young nubile women flashing the camera in search of fame and fortune (or, at least, another cocktail or two.) However, this three-part documentary reports that some of the young women were, well, too young, and the Francis team was perhaps a bit too aggressive in its persuasive tactics. Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story spills it all and includes interviews with Francis himself. Debuts Tuesday, December 3.
Here Come The Irish (Peacock Original – New Episodes)
NBC Sports, which has the broadcast rights to Notre Dame home football games, has committed to a seven-episode documentary on how the team’s players prepare for each game. Episodes one and two are in the books and now available on Peacock which will debut three and four on Thursday, December 5. If you like behind-the-scenes sports docs, and especially Notre Dame, this is for you.
Christmas in Rockefeller Center (Simulcast live with NBC from 8-10 p.m. ET)
With Christmas just three weeks from today, Kelly Clarkson, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin will host the annual lighting of the big tree at 30 Rock in New York. But that’s not all. Clarkson will sing some Xmas favorites as will the Backstreet Boys, Dan + Shay, Megan Hilty, Jennifer Hudson, and many others. Debuts Wednesday, December 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
