Hulu this week (November 24-30, 2024) plans to add 16 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion.
Southpaw (2015)
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Billy ‘The Great’ Hope, an undefeated light heavyweight champion who never loses in the ring but suddenly loses everything (wife, child) outside of it. This will not go down as the best sports film of all time, but Gyllenhaal is convincing as is the superb supporting cast including Rachel McAdams as his wife and Forest Whittaker as an aging ex-fighter. Debuts on Sunday, November 24.
Tsunami: Race Against Time – Series Premiere
It’s been twenty years since a massive Indian Ocean tsunami washed up on shore, killing more than 200,000 people in 14 different countries. This four-episode Nat Geo documentary relives the terrifying moments the tsunami hit as well as the devasting aftermath that continues to haunt millions. Debuts Monday, November 25.
The Christmas Movie Collection
On Wednesday, Hulu will add six Christmas movie classics including The Polar Express, Elf and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. What a better way to kick off the Christmas season. Debuts Wednesday, November 27.
