Netflix this week (November 24-29, 2024) plans to add 13 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:
Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey
It’s been 28 years since 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey was found murdered in her basement in a suburban Colorado home. And since then, there have 28 times 28 documentaries, TV shows and movies on the continuing mystery behind her death. Well, I might be exaggerating a bit — well, maybe not, actually — but Netflix is streaming in with yet another three-episode doc this week that purports to disclose the identity of the murderer. The show will include an interview with JonBenet’s 80-year-old father. John, one of many suspected over the years of killing the little girl. The local authorities have cleared him and he now says he thinks he knows who did it. Debuts Monday, November 25.
The Madness (2024)
Colman Domingo stars in this eight-episode dramatic series as a media pundit who stumbles upon the murder of a white supremacist but then becomes the police’s leading suspect. The show’s producers are promising a conspiracy thriller with topical overtones. If you’re not tired of p0litics yet, this should be up your alley, albeit a dark alley. Debuts Thursday, November 28.
Senna
From Brazil, comes this bioseries on driver Ayrton Senna who dominated the Formula One series in the 1980s. In addition to Senna’s driving skills — he won 41 Grands Prix! — he was arguably Brazil’s most loved personality. Debuts Friday, November 29.
