Diamond Sports today officially renamed the Bally Sports regional sports networks (RSN). The new name: FanDuel Sports Network, which has paid to be the new sponsor of the RSNs. FanDuel, a gambling service, this morning has a new web site for the channels.

The move is the latest in a flurry of changes from Diamond Sports since it declared bankruptcy in March 2023. The company has terminated carriage agreements with several NBA, NHL and MLB teams, severed contracts with Raycom Sports and other broadcasters, and settled a lawsuit with Sinclair Broadcasting, its former owner and operator. The actions were prompted by Diamond Sports’ ongoing attempt to reorganize as a profitable company under bankruptcy law.

With a final reorganization plan apparently nearly ready, Diamond Sports has notified the bankruptcy court that it intends to terminate all MLB agreements except for the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins. The company says it’s possible that it will renegotiate some of those deals with new terms but MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has expressed skepticism regarding Diamond Sports’ future. The Athletic has reported that Manfred wants the league to offer a national streaming service of its own.

Diamond Sports has negotiated new deals for its NBA and NHL teams for the 2024/25 season.
