Netflix to Add 19 New Titles This Week – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Netflix this week (October 6-12, 2024) plans to add 19 new movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting new titles, in my humble opinion:

The Menendez Brothers — Netflix Documentary

Did you watch Netflix’s limited series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story? Now you can watch the Netflix documentary on the two brothers who were convicted of murdering their parents amid accusations of parental sexual abuse. Were Lyle and Erik ‘justified’ in their actions? Or were they examples of evil personified who should rot in jail for the rest of their lives? Perhaps the doc will shed some light minus Ryan Murphy’s dramatic license used liberally in the fictional series. Debuts Monday, October 7.

Lonely Planet – Netflix Film

Laura Dern stars as a romance novelist who falls in love in a way so implausible that her readers would never buy it, or so says the Netflix press release. Of course, the guy she falls for is Liam Hemsworth so it’s probably not that implausible. Debuts Friday, October 11.

A Quiet Place, Part II (2020)

The sequel to the hugely successful 2018 alien invasion film serves up as many jump scares as the original. Emily Blunt stars as the Mom whose family discovers that a high pitch sound can kill the monsters but only if they don’t kill them first. Directed by John Krasinski, who also starred in the first movie, A Quiet Place is a tense, action-packed film that will hold your attention from start to finish. Debuts Saturday, October 12.
