Amazon’s Prime Video to Add 211 New Titles In October – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Amazon’s Prime Video this month (October 2024) plans to add 211 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Canary Black (2024)
Kate Beckinsale stars as a CIA agent whose husband (Rupert Friend) is kidnapped by terrorists and his only means of escape is if she provides compromising information about her government. Beckinsale is well versed in the action genre (Underworld, Van Helsing, Jolt) so it should be a diverting two hours if you dim the lights and your expectations at the same time. Debuts October 24.

House of Spoils (2024)
Since it’s Halloween month, we have to pick one Amazon original scarefest and it’s House of Spoils which stars Ariana DeBose as a chef whose confections are to die for. Unfortunately, there’s a spirit in the house who has already died — and it has other ideas for Madame Chef’s dishes. Debuts October 3. 

FACEOFF: Inside the NHL (Amazon Original)
To help drop the puck on the NHL regular season opener, Amazon will premiere a six-episode documentary on some of the best players in the game including Boston’s David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman, Colorado’s Gabriel Landeskog, Edmonton’s Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, among others. The show is promising unprecedented access to the players behind the scenes and on the ice. Debuts October 4.
