TV Answer Man, do you know of any ways to get Apple’s Major League Soccer Season Pass for free? They had a free offer last year. I remember that. — Jesus, Fairfax, Virginia.

Jesus, you’re right. Apple last year had several free trial promotions for the MLS Season Pass plan, including some for one month. But this year, the company has trimmed its MLS freebies to concentrate on building pay subscriptions. That is, until now.

Apple announced yesterday that it’s teaming with Lionel Messi to provide a one-month free trial of the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+. The free trial, which must be redeemed by April 5, is only available to first time subscribers of the MLS Season Pass. So if you subscribed last year, but cancelled, you are not eligible for this one-month free offer.

To get the one-month free trial, click here. If you have any trouble with the link, there’s also a way to get the freebie through Lionel Messi’s Instagram page. Click here for that.

Once the free trial ends, if you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber, you can get the MLS Season Pass for $79 for the full season or $12.99 per month. If you’re not an Apple TV+ customer, the price is $99 for the full season or $14.99 per month.

The MLS Season Pass includes every MLS game with no blackouts.

Jesus, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
