Hulu today has added 57 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion.

FX’s Feud: Capote vs. the Swans
Tom Hollander stars as mercurial writer Truman Capote who betrays his coterie of high society females (‘The Swans’) by penning a thinly veiled expose of their exploits. Based on a true story, the FX original (each episode airs one day later on Hulu) from Ryan Murphy features a delicious cast as the betrayed ladies, including Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloe Sevigny and Calista Flockhart. The first two episodes of the eight-episode show are available today on Hulu. Rottentomatoes.com, which tracks critical reviews, is currently giving Feud a score of 64, which doesn’t sound like high praise. But the site’s capsule summary says: “While this Feud might lack the abundance of incident that made its predecessor such a nasty delight, Capote vs. the Swans’ luxe milieu and dynamite ensemble will keep spectators entertained.”

Daniel Kaluuya as Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah.

Judas and the Black Messiah
The film, which is based on a real-life story, stars LaKeith Stanfield as Bill O’Neal, an FBI informant who infiltrates the Black Panthers during the 1960s to get incriminatory evidence against its leaders. However, O’Neal soon regrets his mission when his work triggers a controversial homicide of the group’s leader, Fred Hampton, played exceptionally by Daniel Kaluuya.

Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer
This 2010 documentary on the sex scandal that brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is a fascinating look at the human fragility of our most powerful leaders and how their careers can be determined by media and governmental whims. Spitzer appeared poised to become a leading presidential candidate in 2008 when it was discovered he had a penchant for prostitutes. The media pounced on the juicy story, but the documentary suggests its interest (and perhaps the FBI’s investigation) was fueled by unknown forces.
