Amazon’s Prime Video to Add 83 New Releases In March 2026: The 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!

Amazon’s Prime Video next month (March 2026) will add 83 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Scarpetta
When to Watch: March 11
What Kind of Show: Crime Thriller
Who’s In It: Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis

Based on the Patricia Cornwell novels, Nicole Kidman stars as medical examiner Kay Scarpetta who investigates murders that no one else thinks need investigating. (She’s a modern day – and better looking – version of Jack Klugman’s Quincy.) Kidman is great in these type of roles and the strong supporting cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis as her sister; Bobby Cannavale as a detective; and Simon Baker as an FBI profiler. Sounds like multiple seasons is the diagnosis for this medical examiner.

Meal Ticket
When to Watch: March 19
What Kind of Show: Sports Documentary
Who’s In It: Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing, Jalen Rose

Name a great basketball player over the last five decades and chances are he played in the McDonald’s All-American high school game. This Amazon original documentary traces the game’s roots back to the 1970s when relatively unknown teens such as Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing made their bones in the annual classic to the present day. (The TV Answer Man was courtside as a young reporter at the 1981 McDonald’s game when Jordan and Ewing played on the same team. Ewing was regarded as the more likely of the two to be a star.) Meal Ticket will include interviews with many of the game’s participants, including Ewing, Jalen Rose, and Alonzo Mourning, as well as clips from the games. Must see for hoops fans.

All In the Family (Seasons 1-9)
When to Watch: March 25
What Kind of Show: Sitcom
Who’s In It: Carroll O’Connor, Jean Stapleton, Rob Reiner, Sally Struthers

All in the Family, the hit sitcom which aired for nine seasons on CBS from 1971 to 1979, starred Carroll O’Connor as the bigoted but loveable schnook, Archie Bunker. The supporting cast included Jean Stapleton as his wife, Edith, Sally Struthers as his daughter, Gloria, and Rob Reiner as her husband, Mike. The show, which was created by comedy genius Norman Lear, became a cultural sensation for his comedic turns on the hot social topics of the day such as racism, income inequality and the Vietnam War. When President Richard Nixon captured re-election in a landslide in 1972, some commentators said his victory was driven in part by the ‘Archie Bunker vote,’ meaning white, blue collar workers who were dissatisfied with the rapid change in the culture. Particularly since the tragic death of Rob Reiner, readers often ask me where they can watch all nine seasons of the show. On March 25, you can at Amazon’s Prime Video.
