Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Apple TV, Disney+, Peacock and HBO Max have added 18 new TV shows and movies today (January 9, 2026). Here are the four to watch, in my humble opinion:

People We Meet On Vacation
Where to Watch: Netflix
What Kind of Movie: Romantic Comedy

Based on the 2021 novel by Emily Henry, the Netflix original film stars Emily Bader and Tom Blyth as two estranged best friends who decide to renew their relationship for a week-long vacation. However, the holiday soon turns into pratfall-filled trip down memory lane for both characters who are forced to confront their true feelings for each other. A Thousand Blows – Season Two
Where to Watch: Hulu
What Kind of Show: Historical Drama
Malachi Kirby stars as Hezekiah, an illegal boxer who’s recruited to help run an all-female shoplifting ring in the 19th Century. However, the plan hits a roadblock when he runs up against a punishing pugilist played by Stephen Graham. Based on a real story, the first season tapped the vibe of the popular British crime drama, Peaky Blinders (PB’s creator, Stephen Knight wrote A Thousand Blows). In season two, Hezekiah suffers regrets from his actions in season one while the gang’s leader (Erin Doherty from Netflix’s Adolescence) tightens the reins on the gang and Hezekiah. (Graham will reprise his role as well.)

Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video
What Kind of Show: Animated comedy

Jack Black voices Po, the martial arts-proficient panda who must find a new Dragon Warrior to replace him because he’s ascending to Spiritual Leader. Along the way, he teams with the fox pilferer, Zhen, to defeat an evil sorceress. While the franchise is on level four here, the animated film still delivers plenty of laughs for the kids (and more than a few for their parents.)

Coldwater (Series Premiere)
Where to Watch: Paramount Plus
What Kind of Show: Psychological Drama

Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead) stars as John, a London native who uproots his family after a violent incident, moving to Scotland in search of a more peaceful existence. He soon befriends a neighbor (Ewen Bremner), Tommy, but is alarmed when he starts to exhibit psychotic tendencies. John tries to break his relationship with Tommy but can’t because the man is expert at the art of manipulation and is obsessed with John. The six-episode series, which first aired in Great Britain, could be your next obsession, too.
