TV Answer Man, question for you! Will DIRECTV’s MLB Extra Innings still have free MLB TV with MLB TV now on the ESPN app? – Chuck, Wichita Falls, Texas

Chuck, as you know, the ESPN Unlimited app is the new home of MLB TV, the league’s streaming package of out-of-market regular season games. (You can still watch them on the MLB app, too.) This has prompted some confusion among fans, including those who subscribe to MLB Extra Innings on satellite and cable services. So, let me provide some clarification.

How to Order DIRECTV’s Extra Innings
First, DIRECTV satellite is now taking orders for the 2026 MLB Extra Innings package. (DIRECTV streaming does not carry Extra Innings or MLB TV.) The price is $149.99 (same as MLB TV) and you can order three different ways:

• Using the phone number on your DIRECTV account, text 223322 and order the plan by following the prompts.
• Call 1-800-GET-SPORTS and a DIRECTV customer service rep will take your order.
• Add Extra Innings by entering your Account page at the DIRECTV web site.

Does Extra Innings Still Include MLB TV?
Now to your question: Does Extra Innings still include free MLB TV? Answer: Yes!

To get free MLB TV with your Extra Innings package, you can go to this page and link your account. When you get there, select the MLB Extra Innings icon to confirm your subscription, access the MLB TV registration page and confirm DIRECTV as your provider. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to login with your DIRECTV credentials and link your accounts to MLB TV.
