Netflix has announced that it will exclusively stream a rematch between boxing legends Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao on September 19, 2026 at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
The two fighters last met in May 2015 with Mayweather winning an unanimous decision. For a few years after the bout, there were numerous reports that Mayweather and Pacquiao would fight again but it never happened.
The Netflix bout will feature the two fighters well past their prime. The 49-year-old Mayweather’s last official fight was in 2017 when he won a TKO against UFC giant Conor McGregor. Pacquiao, 46, last fought in July 2025 with a majority draw against Mario Barrios.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is another example of Netflix’s strategy to produce one-off ‘special’ sporting events rather than invest in multiple game rights from professional leagues. The streamer announced last week that it will stream a MMA match between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano on May 16. In December, Netflix hosted a fight between YouTube pugilist Jake Paul and pro boxer Anthony Joshua, won by the latter with a KO.
