Fubo: Comcast Won’t Talk to Us About Ending NBC Blackout

With the Super Bowl just five days away, and the Winter Olympics starting this week, Fubo would love to end its 10-week carriage dispute with NBC since the network is exclusively broadcasting both major events.

However, Fubo says Comcast, which owns and operates NBC, is refusing to talk to them about a settlement.

In an investors call following release of Fubo’s fourth quarter report, company CEO David Gandler said Comcast has refused to negotiate since early January. The live streamer lost roughly three dozen paid and free NBC stations on November 21, 2025 when the two sides could not reach a new pact.

“Beginning in early January, Comcast ceased engagement in renewal discussions despite multiple outreach attempts,” Gandler told financial analysts. “Comcast indicated that they are satisfied with their existing Hulu Live arrangement and do not intend to engage in renewal discussions on the fuboTV Inc. side at this time, preferring to reengage closer to the Hulu Live expiration.”

Fubo and Hulu Live last year merged streaming services with Disney holding 70 percent ownership of the venture. But they are still sold separately and Gandler said Comcast is content with Hulu Live having NBC but not Fubo.

“Given that most commercial terms had been largely aligned prior to the spin-off, this position is very difficult to reconcile,” the Fubo exec said.

Gandler claimed that the loss of NBC has had only a “modest impact” on subscriber numbers, suggesting some Fubo customers are subscribing to Peacock to continue watching NBC programming.

Still, the omission of arguably the year’s two biggest events – the Super Bowl and the Olympics – will undoubtedly cause some Fubo subscribers to question their streaming choices.

The TV Answer Man has asked Comcast for a comment and will report back here if we receive a response.
