Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock and Paramount Plus today (January 8, 2026) added 23 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Pitt – Season Two (First episode)
What Kind of Show: Medical Drama
Where to Watch: HBO Max
Who’s In It: Noah Wyle

Noah Wyle (pictured above) stars in this medical dramatic series about the hellish life of emergency room workers at a Pittsburgh hospital. In season one, each episode covered one hour in the 15-hour day shift and the show quickly became a streaming obsession for many viewers, particularly those who fondly remember Wyle in NBC’s ER. (R. Scott Gemmill, who won Emmys for his writing and producing ER, is The Pitt’s showrunner.) In season two, the medical staff will be pushed like never before attending multiple victims from the July 4th Pittfest shooting. (The first episode debuts January 8 with subsequent episodes every Thursday until the season finale on March 26, 2026. Season one is now available on HBO Max.)

His & Hers
Where to Watch: Netflix
What Kind of Show: Mystery/Thriller
Who’s In It: Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal

Based on the Alice Feeney novel, Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal (pictured above) play a reporter and detective respectively who investigate a small town murder. The plot thickens when the two begin to suspect each other, which gets even messier when you discover they were once married to each other. “There are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying,” Netflix says coyly in its program description. If you’re a true crime fan, or just love a good mystery, this looks irresistible; all six episodes debut on January 8.

The Traitors
What Kind of Show: Reality/Competition Show
Where to Watch: Peacock (Season 4 premiere; three episodes)
Who’s In It: Alan Cumming

I have not watched The Traitors and, from the description, I seriously doubt that I will ever watch it. But it is a popular show, based on social media chattery. So I am including it here for those who might be interested. And for those who are not familiar with it, The Traitors, hosted by Alan Cumming (Eyes Wide Shut), is a game show where Z-list celebrities compete for cash prizes by engaging in a Survivor-like game where some participants are secret traitors who plot to ‘murder’ other players. Somehow, by the end of the season, a winner is declared based on whether the traitors stay in the game or not. This season’s celebrity Z-list includes – and you might want to sit down for this – Yam Yam Arocho, Maura Higgins, Donna Kelce (Mom to the NFL’s Kelces), Kristen Kish and a host of others I’ve never heard of.
