Netflix, Peacock, Amazon, HBO Max, Hulu Add 14 New Releases Today: The 3 to Watch

Netflix, Peacock, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Max and Disney Plus today (January 5, 2025) have added 14 new shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Where to Watch: Peacock
Who’s In It: Chelsea Handler (Host)
If you missed last night’s Critics Choices Awards on NBC, Peacock has your back with a rebroadcast of the entire show. Hosted by Chelsea Handler, the ink-stained scribes dish out their picks for the best in cinema in 2025 including Best Picture (no spoilers here). There are also tributes to Rob Reiner and Diane Keaton who passed during the year. Fun opportunity to see Hollywood’s elite in a public setting.

Monday Night Raw: 2026
What Kind of Show: Athletic Entertainment
Where to Watch: Netflix
Who’s In It: CM Punk, Bron Breakker, The Kubuki Warriors, Stranger Things cast?
Netflix celebrates its 1st anniversary of streaming live WWE wrestling with a special ‘Stranger Things’ edition, which will likely feature plenty of appearances (in and out of the ring) from cast members of the Netflix hit show. (Hopefully no body slams of Winona Ryder.) In addition to the Stranger Things stunt, expect a world heavyweight championship match between CM Punk and Bron Breakker along with other scripted mayhem. Logan Paul (the one without the broken jaw) is also expected to participate.

Where to Watch: Disney Plus
Who’s In It: Don Lee
And speaking of fisticuffs, this time of the authentic kind (we think), Disney Plus presents another episode of I Am Boxer, a Korean competition show where 90 boxers battle each other in a variety of dangerous bouts and missions. Hosted by boxing veteran Don Lee, it’s a crazy show that has to be seen to be believed.

NBA fans take note that Peacock has a NBA triple header tonight.
