DIRECTV for the first time is now offering its streaming service to small businesses including bars, restaurants and other commercial venues.
The company has offered satellite TV service to businesses for years. But now they can order DIRECTV’s programming lineup via streaming, assuming they have a high-speed Internet connection.
The initiative is a recognition that the nation is inexorably moving to streaming as a primary way to deliver TV programming.
‘DIRECTV For Business has been undergoing the same digital transformation as our consumer platform, and the launch of our new streaming TV for business option gives small business owners more choice and flexibility to help them find the best fit for the best TV experience,” Doug Eichler, senior vice president of DIRECTV For Business, said in a statement. “From entertaining current customers to attracting new ones, TV can play an important role in the success of your business and now you can get the ultimate entertainment experience of DIRECTV via streaming or satellite.”
The DIRECTV For Business programming lineup includes more than 150 free DIRECTV channels as well as pay channels such as the local network affiliates, ESPN, CNN, Fox News, FS1 and many others.
DIRECTV said that streaming will be made available to large businesses soon.
