Peacock to Add 124 New Releases In January 2026: The 3 to Watch

Peacock next month (January 2026) will add 124 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Ponies
What Kind of Show: Espionage Thriller
When to Watch: January 15, 2026 (All 8 episodes)
Who’s In It: Emilia Clarke, Haley Lu Richardson
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) star as two U.S Embassy secretaries in 1977 Moscow who become CIA operatives after their husbands both die under mysterious circumstances. The pair soon endanger their own lives when their investigation into the deaths uncovers a massive KGB conspiracy. The trailer looks interesting so if you like spy thrillers set during the U.S.-Russia Cold War, this one is for you.

The Traitors
What Kind of Show: Reality/Competition Show
When to Watch: January 8, 2026 (Season 4 premiere; three episodes)
Who’s In It: Alan Cumming
I have not watched The Traitors and, from the description, I seriously doubt that I will ever watch it. But it is a popular show, based on social media chattery. So I am including it here for those who might be interested. And for those who are not familiar with it, The Traitors, hosted by Alan Cumming (Eyes Wide Shut), is a game show where Z-list celebrities compete for cash prizes by engaging in a Survivor-like game where some participants are secret traitors who plot to ‘murder’ other players. Somehow, by the end of the season, a winner is declared based on whether the traitors stay in the game or not. This season’s celebrity Z-list includes – and you might want to sit down for this – Yam Yam Arocho, Maura Higgins, Donna Kelce (Mom to the NFL’s Kelces), Kristen Kish and a host of others I’ve never heard of. (Okay, let’s move on to number three.)

What Kind of Movie: Action/Drama
When to Watch: January 15 2026
Who’s In It: Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos
Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones star as rival storm chasers in this excellent remake of the 1996 film, Twister, with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt in lead. Powell again shows he’s ready to assume Tom Cruise’s role as Hollywood’s leading ‘man with a mission’ and Edgar-Jones could become the Julia Roberts of her time. The film also benefits from an expected bump up in CGI effects and strong supporting performances from Anthony Ramos as a storm chaser caught between profits and altruism and Maura Tierney as Edgar-Jones’ trusting mom.
