Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock Add 12 New Releases Monday – 3 to Watch

Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Peacock, Disney Plus and HBO Max today (December 22, 2025) are adding 12 new shows and movies to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

A Minecraft Movie (2025) – Amazon’s Prime Video
Release Date: Monday, December 22, 3 a.m. ET
Jason Momoa and Jack Black star in this video game adaption about a group of goofs who break through a portal into a cubic world and then must discover a way to return. The film was a huge box office hit (roughly $1 billion worldwide) albeit a moderate success with the critics; Rotten Tomatoes gave it a lackluster score of 48. But if you’re a Minecraft fan, it’s irresistible fun with both Momoa and Black bringing their comedic A game.

Elway – Netflix Original Documentary
Release Date: Monday, December 22, 3 A.M. ET
When you think of former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, you might think Super Bowl champion; the leader of numerous last-minute drives; or arguably the possessor of the league’s strongest arm ever. However, did you know that Elway became a successful NFL executive?; was drafted to play baseball by the New York Yankees?; was drafted in the NFL not by the Broncos, but the Baltimore Colts who he refused to play for, triggering the demolition of that storied franchise? The John Elway story is far more multi-faceted than his surface stats and this Netflix documentary will bring it all to light.

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder – Peacock
Release Date: Monday, December 22, 9:30 p.m. ET
Peacock’s Monday night on the courts continues tonight with a doubleheader featuring the Hornets and Cavs in game one and the Grizzlies and Thunder in the nightcap. I’m picking the latter as the game to watch, not so much because it will be a competitive contest, but that it’s a chance to watch one of sports’ best teams. Led by Shia Gilgeous-Alexander (32.5 points a game), the Thunder is 25-3 (Yes, you read that right. 25-3.) and they have seven players averaging in double-digits in scoring. The team is a machine and possibly on pace to reach 70 wins. Stream in and catch some brilliance tonight.
