Disney+ to Add 9 New Releases This Week – Here Are the 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Disney Plus this week (December 21-27, 2025) is adding nine new shows to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour/End of an Era (episodes five and six; series finale episodes)
Release Date: Tuesday, December 23
Disney Plus has moved up the final two episodes of the Taylor Swift Eras concert docuseries; they were originally scheduled for Friday but now will debut on Tuesday to bring some extra holiday cheer. I haven’t seen the first four, but several TV critics have praised the documentary as surprisingly revealing and entertaining. Who knew? (The concert film is still available on Disney Plus.)
Dunk the Halls: NBA Basketball, Cavaliers at Knicks
Release Date: Thursday, December 25
On Christmas, Disney+ will simulcast ABC‘s broadcast of the Cleveland Cavaliers-New York Knicks game at noon ET. But the mouse network will add an extra gift under the tree with an animated real-time version of the game starring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and, last but not least, Chip and Dale. The alternative game, which will also air on ESPN2, will display each player as a motion-tracked animation version of himself while the Disney toon figures cheer from the sidelines at Madison Square Garden.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Disney Original) – Season Two (New episode)
Release Date: Wednesday, December 24
Walker Scobell stars as young Percy Jackson who must locate Zeus’ lost thunderbolt to restore order in mythological Greece. The popular teen/tween show, which will also stream on Hulu, will follow Percy in season two as he enters the Sea of Monsters to find the Golden Fleece! Disney Plus on Wednesday will debut episode four which will feature an unexpected meeting of the Gods!
