Update: Why Did YouTube TV NOT Show Saturday’s English Premier League Game In 4K?

TV Answer Man, YouTube TV didn’t have the English Premier League game in 4K on Saturday. Are they in some fight with NBC? – Bob, Cleveland.
Bob, I’ve received several e-mails from readers over the last 24 hours about this so I want to let everyone know that I’m on it. YouTube TV normally carries select English Premier League games broadcast by NBC in 4K. But yesterday (August 16, 2025), the live streamer did not offer the 4K feed nor did it explain why.
The omission could have been a glitch. But there will be another 4K broadcast of a EPL game today. If YouTube TV does not carry it, I will contact YTTV PR on Monday morning to inquire why. The streamer’s subscribers pay $10 a month extra to watch live sports in 4K and they deserve an explanation if the 4K lineup suddenly won’t have the EPL games anymore.
I will update this article today or tomorrow when I get more information.

Update: Today’s EPL game is not showing up in 4K on YouTube TV, Fubo or DIRECTV, according to multiple readers. We will ask the providers on Monday for an explanation.
Update #2: A DIRECTV spokesman says two EPL games WERE in 4K (for both satellite and streaming) over the weekend, contrary to what some subscribers say. We still haven’t heard from Fubo or YouTube TV.
Update #3: Fubo when asked if EPL will be in 4K this weekend: “We don’t have anything to announce at this time and can share an update as available.”
Update #4: Google/YouTube TV never responded to our requests for comment.

Any update on the 4K EPL issue? I certainly don’t want to pay for YouTubeTV 4K without it. Message I got “4K not available on Internet”
Story was just updated with DIRECTV comment suggesting there was no issue with 4K streaming of EPL games. YouTube TV has not responded (probably won’t) not has Fubo.
There was definitely no 4K EPL on DirecTV Stream on Sunday in my house
