(HBO)Max to Add 4 New Releases This Week – Here’s the One to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.
Max this week (May 25-31, 2025) plans to add 4 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here’s the one to watch, in my humble opinion.
Mountainhead (2025)
Release Date: Saturday, May 31
Steve Carell and Jason Schwartzman star in this ensemble dark comedy from Succession creator Jesse Armstrong. The film, Armstrong’s first, features a quartet of tech bros (Ramy Youssef and Cory Michael Smith also star) who convene at a luxury ski resort to manipulate world events during a financial crisis. (They are apparent stand ins for Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos and Cook.) Armstrong’s skewering of America’s cynical corporate media in Succession makes this a much anticipated must watch. What unique insights does he have about Silicon Valley?

What Is Max?
Max, a streaming service similar to Netflix, Hulu and Disney Plus, offers a mix of original programming, recent and older movies, and library titles from Warner Bros. Discovery properties such as HGTV, the Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies and HBO. The streamer also carries live sports from TBS, TNT and truTV with its two most expensive packages, which are $16.99 a month and $20.99 a month. The cheapest plan, which includes ads, is $9.99 a month and does not include live sports. Max was formerly called HBO Max but switched to just Max in 2023 to better reflect the service included titles beyond HBO. However, the company announced recently that the name will change back to HBO Max this summer.
