DIRECTV is now offering expanded coverage of next month’s Tribeca Festival with a content hub and free channel featuring movies and related programming from the New York-based event celebrating independent films.
The hub is available to all DIRECTV subscribers including satellite and streaming as well as users of MyFree DIRECTV, the company’s ad-supported free service. To access the Tribeca hub, which provides a pathway to the Tribeca-related programming, go to DIRECTV.com or download the DIRECTV app.
In addition to the hub, DIRECTV is launching a new channel on MyFree DIRECTV called Tribeca Festival+ which will include:
Tribeca Feature Films: Tribeca Festival+ will premiere new films acquired by Tribeca during the year as well as movies premiering during the Festival which will be held in New York from June 5 to June 15, 2025.
Tribeca Short Films: A showcase of short-form films from the Tribeca Festival’s Academy Award-winning Shorts Program.
Tribeca Talks: A series of conversations with independent filmmakers and industry leaders which were previously only available to live audiences at the Tribeca Festival.
“Tribeca is synonymous with creative expression and entertainment, and we’re thrilled to extend this legendary New York City experience directly to all DIRECTV customers while attracting new ones,” Amy Leifer, chief advertising sales officer at DIRECTV, said in a press release. “Movies are consistently one of the top entertainment options that consumers seek across all of DIRECTV’s platforms, and this is a compelling new way for advertisers to connect with these highly engaged film fans as they tune in to see where culture is headed next.”
What Is MyFree DIRECTV?
MyFree DIRECTV, which started with 70 channels in November 2024, now has more than 100 channels and is expected to add more channels in the coming weeks and months. DIRECTV is hoping that MyFree DIRECTV will generate additional advertising revenue as well as attract potential customers who might subscribe after coming to its site/app.
