Sling TV Is Just $23 For One Month – Smart Choice For March Madness Fans?

TV Answer Man, I see that Sling TV is just $23 for the first month. Would that be a good service to watch March Madness this month? – Peter, Scranton, Pennsylvania.

But Can You Watch March Madness With Sling TV?
For $23, Sling TV may seem like a good choice to watch the March Madness men’s college basketball tournament, which starts tomorrow night (March 18, 2025) with a ‘First Four’ doubleheader at 6:30 p.m. ET. The live streaming service has truTV, TBS and TNT in its basic Blue package. The three Turner networks will air roughly half of the March Madness games including tomorrow night’s doubleheader on truTV.

However, Sling TV does not carry any local CBS affiliates which will broadcast the remainder of the games. If you get Sling for March Madness, you will have to find another way to watch CBS which could be an antenna or the Paramount Plus with Showtime plan which includes a live feed of your local CBS affiliate. The cost of Paramount Plus with Showtime is $12.99 a month, but there is a 30-day free trial now.

How to Watch March Madness For Less Money
Combining Sling TV with the Paramount free trial would seem to be the way to go. But you would still wind up paying $23 for the first month. (The regular rate of $45.99 will apply if you don’t cancel prior to the end of the first month.)
