Joe, ESPN this Saturday (March 8, 2025) will offer an upscaled 4K broadcast of the men’s college basketball game between second ranked Duke (27-3) and unranked North Carolina (20-11) from the Dean E. Smith Center on the North Carolina campus. (ESPN’s main channel will simulcast the game in High Definition for those who don’t have 4K access.)

The game will tip off on Saturday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Who’s Expected to Win?
ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives Duke a 79.2 percent chance of winning. As of this morning, oddsmakers have not set a point spread for the game.

Duke is led by 6’9″ freshman guard Cooper Flagg who’s averaging 19.6 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. North Carolina is paced by 6’0″ senior guard RJ Davis who’s averaging 17.2 points a game.

Duke defeated North Carolina on February 20, 2025, 87-70, behind 22 points from guard Kon Knueppel. This will be the second meeting this season between the two teams.

The ESPN 4K broadcast will be ‘upscaled’ from 1080p HD. The upscaled 4K means that the game will be produced in 1080p HD on site and upgraded to 4K for the home transmission. ESPN switched to upscaled 4K more than a year ago after previously doing some games in native 4K.
