TV Answer Man, I didn’t get the three-week free trial for YouTube TV that you wrote about. Before I could subscribe, they changed it to 10 days. Do you know of any other great deals like that I can get before they do the switcheroo?! — Shelley, Nashville.
Shelley, you’re right. YouTube TV on Monday was offering a three-week free trial to its live streaming service, but they changed it to a 10-day free trial yesterday. That happens frequently in the streaming industry. A streaming service will test an offer and then pull it or switch it almost immediately thereafter for a variety of reasons, including the fact that ‘too many’ people were signing up for the discount or free offer! Companies sometimes set a limit on the number of people who can get a promotional price.
However, I have another great deal for you and I think it will be available for at least a few days.
Hulu, the subscription Video on Demand service, is now offering its ads-included plan for free for the first 30 days. The regular price is $9.99 a month and it will apply if you don’t cancel prior to the end of the first month.
This is a nice value for consumers looking for a streaming service, such as Hulu, that provides a mix of movies and TV shows. As you may know, Hulu has licensing deals with a number of networks which enables them to offer some shows the day after they air on their channels. The streamer also has many original shows including some top-quality programs produced by FX.
If you are interested in the 30-day free offer from Hulu, click here. The terms of the free offer say it’s available to new and eligible returning subscribers only. It does not definite “eligible returning subscribers.”
Shelley, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
