Max to Add 23 New Movies On Friday – Here’s My 3 Best

Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max, tomorrow (November 1, 2024) plans to add 23 new movies to its lineup. Here are the three best, in my humble opinion:

Jurassic Park (1993)
Jurassic Park continues to awe and captivate audiences more than 30 years after its release. And why not? The special effects were groundbreaking and still compare favorably to the latest CGI of today. Director Steven Spielberg skillfully balances wonder and terror, immersing viewers in the marvel of a resurrected prehistoric world while weaving a cautionary tale about the dangers of tampering with nature.

Unforgiven (1992)
Directed by Clint Eastwood, Unforgiven is a haunting and thought-provoking Western masterpiece that subverts the genre’s traditional heroism and moral simplicity. The story follows the story of Eastwood’s aging gunslinger who is reluctantly drawn back into a life of violence for one last job. The film explores themes of redemption, justice, and the brutality of the human spirit. Arguably Eastwood’s greatest work on screen and behind the camera.

Goodfellas (1990)
Martin Scorsese’s brilliant 1990 mob drama starring Ray Liotta (RIP), Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro. Ten years earlier, Scorsese made Raging Bull and it seemed improbable then that he could top such a work of art. But he did. Goodfellas has become one of those movies that you can watch over and over and never be bored.
