DIRECTV’s timing arguably could have been better with the TV provider staring at a possible blackout today of the entire Disney suite of channels. But nonetheless, DIRECTV today launched a $1 million giveaway of Visa ‘reward cards’ for its satellite and DIRECTV Via Streaming subscribers.

The promotion, which will last until December 31, will include 18,000 total prizes ranging from $50 to $500. To enter, you have to go to the DIRECTV Perks page here. If you are a DIRECTV Perks member, the company’s customer loyalty program, there will be additional chances to win.

DIRECTV says there will be a new entry/drawing program every month from September to December.

If you’re wondering why DIRECTV Stream is not included in the promotion or the Perks program, the satellite and DIRECTV Via Streaming services require two-year agreements for new subscribers while DIRECTV Stream does not. The Perks program is designed to offer an incentive for subscribing with that requirement. It offers monthly sweepstakes, weekly instant-win games, and physical and digital benefits such as discounts on movie tickets and other merchandise.
