Peacock this week (August 26-September 1, 2024) plans to add 178 TV shows and movies to its lineup. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

The Fall Guy (2024)
Peacock gets another streaming debut with a recent theatrical film with The Fall Guy which stars Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt man whose work in his ex-girlfriend’s (Emily Blunt) film gets complicated when the lead actor mysteriously disappears. The director asks him to find the actor which turns out to be his most dangerous stunt yet. The comedy/adventure film is one of the great popcorn movies of the year, which means dim the lights, and your expectations, before viewing and you’ll enjoy. Debuts Friday, August 30.

Here Comes the Irish (Peacock Original Documentary)
NBC’s longstanding partnership with Notre Dame football continues with this exclusive Peacock documentary on the team’s prep for the 2024 season. Don’t expect Woodward and Bernstein here, but it should offer a behind-the-scenes peek at coach Marcus Freeman and QB1 Riley Leonard, among others. Debuts Thursday, August 29.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off has become the American cinema’s best coming-of-age comedy ever thanks to the perfect performance by Matthew Broderick as the wisecracking and charismatic Ferris. The film, which features Ferris playing hooky from school, serves up everything you want from a comedy and more. And let’s not forget the great supporting work from Alan Buck as Ferris’ put-upon pal. Fun film!
