Will the 2024 British Open Golf Tournament Be In 4K?

TV Answer Man, do you know if DIRECTV will have the British Open in 4K this year? — Hal, Orlando, Florida.

Hal, DIRECTV, DIRECTV Stream, Comcast and YouTube TV are among the TV providers that will offer 4K coverage of The British Open golf tournament which starts today (July 18) and runs through Sunday (July 21). (There may be additional providers. Check your on-screen guide for more information.)

The 4K broadcast, which begins this morning at 6 a.m. ET and will feature a single par 3 hole, will be produced by NBC. The network will offer the 4K feed at 6 a.m. ET as well on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the 4K coverage, DIRECTV will offer a four-channel, single-screen display on channel 901 which will include a HD broadcast of the event, featured holes, featured marquee groups and interactive display that includes leaderboard scores, scorecards, groupings, tee times and player biographies.

Peacock and NBC-owned channels such as USA Network, the Golf Channel and local NBC affiliates will provide high-def coverage of the British Open (also known as The Open) throughout the tournament. You can see a TV schedule here.
