Hulu to Add 28 New Titles This Week – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Hulu this week (June 2-8, 2024) plans to add 28 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

FX’s Clipped: Two-Episode Series Premiere
If you loved HBO’s Winning Time, as I did, you’ll love this FX miniseries on the trials and tribulations (lots of tribulations) of the Los Angeles Clippers. Ed O’Neill (Married with Children) plays the Clippers’ mercurial and incompetent team owner, Donald Sterling, whose inexplicable actions doomed the squad to losing season after losing season while the hometown favorites, the Lakers, created dynasties. The supporting cast includes Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) as coach Doc Rivers, Clifton Davis as Elgin Baylor, and J. Alphonse Nicholson as Chris Paul. Sounds like a slam dunk and I’m in. Debuts Tuesday, June 4.

Bullet Train (2022)
Brad Pitt stars in this comedy/action movie about a group of assassins who board a bullet train in Tokyo  with conflicting reasons to kill their marks. The ensemble cast includes Joey King, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sandra Bullock and Brian Tyree Henry. The critical response was mixed but those who liked it, loved it. “Bullet Train is a fun flick, to be sure, reminiscent of director Guy Ritchie’s better crime comedies such as “The Gentlemen” with Hugh Grant. But, as the title suggests, it’s louder and faster,” wrote the New York Post.

An Audience With Kylie – Special
In December 2023, singer Kylie Minogue took the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London and the result, according to this The Guardian review, was a show-stopping sensation. Minogue sings her biggest hits and takes questions from the audience.
