TV Answer Man, YouTube is having a $50 discount on the Sunday Ticket that ends in a few days. Do you think they will have more discounts later in the year? And bigger discounts than $50? — Neal, New Haven, Connecticut.

Neal, YouTube TV is now offering new subscribers a $50 discount on the 2024 Sunday Ticket, but the promotional price expires after Wednesday, February 28.
That means you only have three days to take advantage of this offer.

The $50 discount would reduce the 2024 Sunday Ticket base price via YouTube TV from $349 to $299. The Ticket price if you purchase it via YouTube Primetime Channels would decrease from $449 to $399. (YouTube TV offers a lower price on the Ticket because it requires you to maintain a YouTube TV sub, which starts at $72.99 a month.)

But before you rush to the Sunday Ticket site, there are a few things you should know.

1. The current discount is only available to people who have never subscribed to the NFL Sunday Ticket. That means current customers on auto-renewal cannot get the $50 discount nor can 2023 Ticket customers who cancelled their subscription after the season concluded.

2. The odds that YouTube/Google will offer more discounts prior to the beginning of the 2024 NFL regular season in September are very good. And there’s a decent chance that a future discount will be larger than the current one and perhaps include former Ticket subscribers. In 2023, YouTube offered a $100 discount on the Ticket from April to June. After that, it offered a $50 discount. So it’s a safe bet that you will see more discounts in the coming months.

Consequently, it’s probably safe to wait this one out if that’s your preference. By doing so, you might have an opportunity to save even more money on the 2024 Sunday Ticket. And don’t forget, if you subscribe to the current $50 discount offer, you could not cancel later to take advantage of a better offer. YouTube does not permit any cancellations of the Ticket.

Neal, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
