The Best Picture Settings For TCL 4K TVs
Picture Mode
— Movie or Cinema will deliver the best picture when you bring your TCL set home.
— If the movie is in HDR, High Dynamic Range, try HDR Dark.
— If you’re watching sports, use the Sports mode to reduce motion blur.
— Finally, if you’re playing games, Gaming.
Brightness
— If the room is bright, try a setting between 70 and 100.
— If the room is dark or dimly lit, set Brightness at 40-60.
— If your TCL TV has an ambient light sensor, you can try disabling Adaptive Brightness.
Contrast
— Between 85 and 90 is the sweet spot. This will bring out the difference between bright and dark areas on screen without losing detail.
Color
Between 45 and 50. Be careful you don’t oversaturate the colors, a temptation that some viewers have. You want the colors looking realistic. not out of a coloring book.
Hue/Tint
Zero is best.
Sharpness
Like Color, some people tend to set Sharpness higher than needed. But the best setting is between 0 and 10 for a TCL set, a bit lower than you would set it for other brand TVs. If you go higher, the picture will start to look jagged and edgy.
Color Temperature
Warm should work best on a TCL TV. That will give you a more realistic and cinematic picture.
Motion Settings
If you’re watching sports, 2-4 should reduce motion blur. If a show is non-sports, set the Motion settings to Off to avoid the Soap Opera Effect.
Gamma
Set to 2.2 which will work best in all lighting situations.
