HBO Max this week (March 16-22, 2026) will add 12 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Born to Bowl

What Kind of Show: Sports Documentary
Who’s In It: Kyle Troup, Jason Belmonte
There was a time in America when professional (and amateur) bowling was watched by millions. In fact, the networks and local channels devoted weekly, and sometimes, even daily programs to bowling. (Does anyone remember, Bowling For Dollars?) But over the years, the sport has taken a significant dip in popularity with young viewers calling it boring. But that might be about to change. Surveys show bowling ratings are increasing and more Americans are going to the lanes. To capitalize on the trend, HBO Max presents Born to Bowl, a documentary featuring five bowlers – Kyle Troup, Anthony Simonsen, EJ Tackett, Cameron Crowe, and Jason Belmonte – as they prepare for a Professional Bowlers Association tour. The first episode today highlights the year’s first tournament in Indianapolis. (The last four episodes will air on subsequent Mondays.)
The Comeback (Season three premiere)

What Kind of Show: Satire
Who’s In It: Lisa Kudrow
Speaking of comebacks! Lisa Kudrow’s (pictured above) satirical comedy about a one-time sitcom star who’s struggling to stay relevant returns for season three after a 12-year absence. Talk about art imitating life imitating art.
The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper: What Happened to Nancy Guthrie?
When to Watch: Tuesday, March 17
What Kind of Show: News
Who’s In It: Anderson Cooper
On February 1, the mother of Today Show anchor, Savannah Guthrie, disappeared, apparently a victim of a kidnapping. The case dominated the headlines for weeks but suddenly was kicked to the back pages without any explanation or resolution. So, where is Nancy Guthrie and why has most of the media essentially stopped covering her disappearance? Hopefully, Anderson Cooper on Tuesday will provide some answers in his new episode of The Whole Story With Anderson Cooper.
