Does DIRECTV Streaming Offer MLB TV Or Extra Innings?

TV Answer Man, I am thinking of getting DIRECTV streaming. (I used to have the dish.) Do you know if they have MLB TV or Extra Innings with their plans? I used to get Extra Innings to watch the Red Sox. Robert, Boulder, Colorado.
Robert, DIRECTV satellite has offered the MLB Extra Innings plan for years and it’s a great way to watch your favorite teams if you live out of market. The Extra Innings plan, which costs $149.99 this season, also comes with free MLB TV so you can watch the games via your dish or online.
But as for DIRECTV streaming…No, it does not carry MLB TV plans and it never has. That is somewhat surprising because other live streaming services such as Sling TV and Fubo have offered MLB for a few years. (YouTube TV used to but lost the plan in a carriage dispute with Major League Baseball.)
If you are still interested in subscribing to DIRECTV streaming, my advice would be to do so but then subscribe directly to MLB TV for $149.99 at the ESPN Unlimited app. ESPN is providing a free month’s trial of its app with the MLB TV package. (Just be sure to cancel prior to the end of the 30 days or you will be charged.) After subscribing to MLB TV at the ESPN app, you can watch the games either on the MLB app or the ESPN app.
One thing that will be different from your experience with Extra Innings on DIRECTV: The satellite provider offered select games in 4K. However, MLB TV is only available in HD although some games are in 1080p HD.
