The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, HBO Max, Paramount Plus, and Amazon’s Prime Video are adding 12 new shows and movies today (February 12, 2026). Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Predator: Badlands (2025)
Where to Watch: Hulu
What Kind of Movie: Sci-Fi/Action
Who’s In It: Elle Fanning, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi
Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as a Yautja who travels to a hostile planet to find and kill a dangerous Predator. Unfamiliar with the new land, he teams up with a corporation android (Elle Fanning) who shows him the way. The seventh in the Predator sci-fi series is a rocking 107 minutes with plenty of action, and a few moral dilemmas for the thinking viewer. The film has made nearly $200 million worldwide at the box office and commands an impressive 86 score at the critical review site, Rotten Tomatoes.
Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association
Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video
What Kind of Show: Sports Documentary
Who’s In It: Julius Erving, Spencer Haywood, Moses Malone
The Amazon original doc chronicles the wild and crazy history of the American Basketball Association which challenged the established NBA for nine years in the late 1960s and 1970s. The league, which nurtured young stars such as Julius Erving, Artis Gilmore, Moses Malone and Spencer Haywood, introduced such novel concepts as the three-point shot, multi-colored ball and a funkadelic style of play that had to be seen to be believed. Picking this documentary as one of the three to watch is a slam dunk.
The Black Phone (2021)
Where to Watch: Netflix
What Kind of Movie: Horror
Who’s In It: Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames
Mason Thames stars as a young lad who’s kidnapped by a serial killer (Ethan Hawke) called The Grabber and held in his basement. While trapped, the boy finds a rotary black phone that enables him to call the ghosts of The Grabber’s previous victims. The Black Phone was a surprise box office and critical hit and soon led to a sequel, Black Phone 2.
