DIRECTV Launching 5 ‘Peacock Games’ Channels For Select Subscribers

DIRECTV is adding five ‘Peacock Games’ channels for streaming and satellite subscribers who receive Peacock through the TV provider.

The channels, which will be located after channel 619, will feature college basketball, English Premier League soccer and other live sports.

Update: DIRECTV says the channels’ availability will “depend on the volume of events and live content, but we can expand to as many as five by 2Q or so 2026. We’ll have at least three to work with as soon as a week from now.” There was one ‘Peacock Games’ channel up last night for college basketball.

DIRECTV sells the Peacock Premium plan for $10.99 (the same price at the Peacock web site) but also includes it in other packages such as its $9.99 a month Movie Extra Pack.

The TV provider has yet to add the new NBC Sports Network which features much of the Peacock programming lineup. (Comcast’s Xfinity and YouTube TV are currently the only TV providers that carry the NBC Sports Network.) Asked if the addition of the five Peacock Sports channels is in lieu of adding NBC Sports Network, a DIRECTV spokesman said, “No, just extra live action.”

DIRECTV has previously said it has been in negotiations for the rights to the NBC Sports Network.

The TV provider last month added seven ESPN+ channels for subscribers who have ESPN in their package. The channels, which are available on DIRECTV satellite from channel numbers 210-1 through 210-7, include live games in a variety of sports.

Thank you for the article. I checked channel 619 and the Peacock channels are not there yet. Do you know when they might be added? Thank you!
