Top 3 New Shows & Movies Coming to Streaming This Week

Every week, there are literally scores of new movies and TV shows added to streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon’s Prime Video and all the rest. It’s getting nearly impossible to keep up with all of them. But that’s why The TV Answer Man is here. We have selected three new streaming releases coming this week (October 26-November 1, 2025) that you should keep an eye out for. And here they are:

Jurassic World Rebirth – Peacock
Release Date: Thursday, October 30
Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali star as covert operatives who lead a team to a remote island where the last dinosaurs reside so they can extract some dinosaur DNA for a life-saving heart disease drug. The problem with that? This is a Jurassic Park movie which means the dinosaurs are not inclined to cooperate. Lower the lights and your expectations and you’ll have fun. (But this is no Spielberg.)

The Asset, Season One – Netflix
Release Date: Monday, October 27
If you can handle subtitles, this Danish spy drama is getting considerable buzz. The show stars Clara Dessau (pictured above) as a young police cadet who goes undercover as a jeweler to bring down a criminal empire. Good Housekeeping writes that the gritty six-episode series “will get your heart racing” while Hello Magazine calls it “your next binge.” Added to Netflix on Monday, it’s already the streamer’s number three show on its Top 10 most viewed show list for the United States.

Sorry, Baby (2025) – HBO Max
Release Date: Thursday, October 30
Eva Victor stars (and directed and wrote) in this drama/comedy film about a depressed college professor struggling with depression after a sexual assault. Before the subject matter sends you running for the exits, the indie film has amassed a 97 score at Rotten Tomatoes based on 173 reviews which sums up the critics as saying: “Carrying off difficult subject matter with a light touch and wry sense of humor, Sorry, Baby, triumphantly announces writer-director and star Eva Victor as a formidable talent.“

Bonus Movie Pick:
Baby Driver (2017) – Netflix
Release Date: Saturday, November 1
And if you’re looking for a movie to get your heart racing, Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort as a mentally deficient getaway driver for a crime crew populated by a murderer’s row of superb supporting players – Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal and Eiza Gonzalez. The team’s plan to pull off a heist backfires, leaving Elgort’s character at odds with the group and looking for a fast avenue out. Directed by Edgar Wright, Baby Driver is an inventive and action-packed crime drama flavored with some delicious scenery chewing performances. Great filmmaking on display here. And, boy, do we miss Spacey in roles like this.
