Amazon’s Prime Video this week (October 26-November 1, 2025) plans to add 69 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Hedda (2025)
Release Date: Wednesday, October 29
Tessa Thompson stars as the 19th Century version of a Bravo Real Housewife, the newly married and forever entitled Hedda Gabler in this film adaptation of the Henrik Ibsen play of the same name. The film, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, has received strong critical acclaim although some say it’s a bit stagey. Sounds like a winner if you were an English Lit major and frequent Bravo viewer. (Are there any Bravo viewers who majored in English Lit?)

NBA On Prime: Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers & Los Angeles 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies
Release Date: Friday, October 31
If you didn’t watch last Friday’s regular season debut of Amazon’s NBA broadcasts, you missed a winning production. The pre-game show (hosted by Taylor Rooks) and the doubleheader (Knicks vs. Celtics and Lakers vs. Timberwolves) both received strong praise. The 1080p picture looks great and the Amazon-fueled graphics were informative but not intrusive. On Friday, Amazon will stream a Celtics-76ers and Lakers-Grizzlies doubleheader so take a look if you’re a hoops fan; I think you will like what you see. (Pre-game coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. ET; tip off shortly after 7 p.m. ET. Lakers-Grizzlies starts at 9:30 p.m. ET.)

Rear Window (1954)
Release Date: Saturday, November 1
Director Alfred Hitchcock exploits the human impulse to snoop with this suspenseful masterpiece starring Jimmy Stewart as a wheelchair-bound photographer who thinks he’s uncovered a murder after spying on his neighbors from his window. It’s a great film filled with subtle psychological messages about our worst and best instincts. (mostly worse).
