Does the 2025 NFL Sunday Ticket Still Have a Free Trial?

TV Answer Man, I want to check out the NFL Sunday Ticket this week but I don’t want to pay the price until they lower it. My question is do they still offer a one-week free trial like before? Jamal, Sacramento.

Jamal, the 2025 NFL regular season enters week six this week with a full slate of Sunday afternoon games. To watch all out-of-market games, you will need the NFL Sunday Ticket which costs as much as $480 for returning subscribers. YouTube this season has offered a one-week free trial to the Sunday Ticket, but sorry to report that the company this week ended the freebie.

But if you want to watch without paying, you still have two options:

  1. Find a bar or restaurant that shows the Sunday Ticket. DIRECTV offers this handy ‘bar finder’ guide with a complete list of establishments that carry the Ticket.
  2. If you are just looking for a preview of the Sunday Ticket, there is a second alternative although it’s arguably not the most satisfying. YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels offer a short preview of the Sunday Ticket every Sunday. And as far as I can tell, it’s available to new users and returning customers. (I am in the ‘returning customer’ category and it worked last week for me.) The free preview is 20 minutes on YouTube TV and 15 minutes on YouTube Primetime Channels. After that, the Ticket stream will cut off if you don’t subscribe. The advantage here is that you don’t have to input a credit card number to watch the preview. You just go to the app or web site for either YouTube service, click on the Ticket window, and start watching.

Jamal, I hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
