NBC vs. YouTube TV: An Update

YouTube TV, the multi-channel live streaming service, on Tuesday night struck a last minute short-term extension of its carriage agreement with NBC, avoiding a blackout of all NBC programming on the streamer. We don’t know the length of the short-term deal, but John Ourand of Puck, one of the industry’s best (if not the best) sports media journalists, reports that the two sides are close to working out a deal. No word from Ourand on the deal’s details such as whether YouTube TV will continue carrying NBC’s regional sports networks or get free access to Peacock, the NBC streaming service.

The TV Answer Man will continue monitoring this situation and report back here if an announcement is made.

Update: Long Term Deal Is Reached and Announced.
