When Will the New Fubo-Hulu Live Service Debut?

TV Answer Man, hey when will Fubo merge with Hulu? Seems like they announced it quite awhile ago, right? – Jackie, New Haven, Connecticut.
Jackie, Disney announced in early January that Hulu Live would combine with Fubo’s live service which would create a streamer with roughly 6.5 million subscribers combined, second only to YouTube TV in the category. The companies said Fubo’s management team, led by CEO David Gandler, would lead the new service.
So, where is it, you ask?
Well, federal regulators have to approve of the merger and that can take time. Fubo said last week in an investors call that the “anticipated time line” to close the deal is currently the fourth quarter of this year or the first quarter of next year.
That means it could be as much as seven months before you can subscribe to a Hulu-Fubo combined live streaming service, although it probably won’t take that long.
There is still no word on how much the new service will cost or its combined lineup. The TV Answer Man will continue to monitor this development and report back here if there are significant changes.
Jackie, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
