Netflix on September 13 will live stream the Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez-Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford fight for free with all plans, the streamer has announced. The undercard is expected to begin at 8 p.m. ET with the main bout around 11 p.m, ET.
Canelo Alvarez, 62-2-2 with 39 KOs, is the Super Middleweight Champion while Crawford, 41-0 with 31 KOs, is the WBA’s Junior Middleweight Champion. Crawford will jump up in weight to 168 pounds to compete for the Super Middleweight crown. The two are considered the sport’s best fighters pound-for-pound.
The fight, which will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, is one of the sport’s most anticipated bouts in years. Crawford has won four divisions during his unbeaten career while Canelo Alvarez, who is a slight favorite to retain his title, is also a multi-belt holder.
Outside of two NFL games streamed on Christmas Day last year, this is arguably Netflix’s most prestigious live sporting event, one that would normally be an exclusive pay-per-view event. However, if you have Netflix, you will have the fight at no extra cost.
