Netflix, Peacock, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon’s Prime Video this weekend (July 3-6, 2025) plans to add 50 new TV episodes and movies to their streaming lineups, Here are the three to watch:
Sinners (2025) – HBO Max
Release Date: Friday, July 4
Michael B. Jordan stars in dual roles as twins who return to their hometown in 1930s Mississippi to combat an evil force (vampires.) Directed by Ryan Coogler, Sinners (pictured above) has been the smash hit of 2025, generating nearly $300 million at the domestic box office. And the critics are still raving about Sinners, calling it an exciting and insightful thriller. Folks, I don’t have a subscription to HBO Max, but Amazon’s Prime Video offers a seven-day free trial and I’m signing up on the Fourth just to watch this film.
Community (All 6 Seasons) – Hulu
Release Date: Thursday, July 3
Joel McHale stars as a disbarred attorney who returns to community college to earn a legitimate degree after his inflated resume is exposed. Community, which aired originally on NBC, also includes Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, and Gillian Jacobs and it’s a hoot. Very good show which works both as comedy and satire of semi-higher education.
Poker Face, Season Two (New Episode) – Peacock
Release Date: Thursday, July 3
Natasha Lyonne stars in this Peacock original comedy/drama about a former casino employee who’s basically a human lie detector; she can spot someone lying lickety split. And using her unique skills, she’s able to solve a murder mystery in 60 minutes or less. Call it a modern day Columbo, Poker Face is a delight thanks to Lyonne’s charming performance, an exceptional lineup of guest stars, and show creator Rian Johnson‘s clever crafting.
