Sling TV: Do You Have to Pay Extra to Watch In 4K?
By Phillip Swann
The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.
TV Answer Man, I know that Sling TV has 4K now but do you have to pay extra to watch sports in 4K like YouTube TV – Jeremy, Pontiac, Michigan.
Jeremy, Sling TV, the multi-channel live streaming service owned by Dish Network/Echostar, offers live sports in 4K from Fox, ESPN, NBC and FS1. Unlike YouTube TV, which charges a $9.99 a month add-on fee for 4K access, Sling includes the beautiful pictures for no extra cost.
However, to watch a live sporting event in 4K, your Sling package must include the channel that is broadcasting the event. For example, Fox and NBC are available in the Sling Blue package while subscribers of the Sling Orange package can watch ESPN’s 4K broadcasts when they are available.
Sling Blue and Sling Orange each cost $45.99 a month in most markets. You can get both packages combined for $60.99 a month.
Where Can You Watch Sling TV In 4K?
There are a few other caveats to Sling in 4K. One, 4K programming is only available in the following markets:
Atlanta
Austin/Houston
Chicago
Dallas
Detroit
Los Angeles
Milwaukee
Minneapolis
New York
Orlando
Oakland
