Netflix, Hulu, Max, Peacock, Amazon’s Prime Video and Paramount Plus this weekend (March 13-16, 2025) plan to add 48 new releases to their streaming lineups. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Long Bright River – Peacock Original
Amanda Seyfried stars as a Philadelphia cop who’s assigned to investigate the murder of three women in a drug-infested neighborhood while juggling motherhood. The early reviews are glowing, particularly for Seyfried who has quietly become one of our better actresses. Sounds like must viewing for fans of shows such as Kate Winslet’s Mare of Easttown and Jodie Foster’s True Detective: Night Country. All eight episodes debut on Peacock on Thursday, March 13.

Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years – Hulu Original
The acerbic comedian has managed to offend both conservative and liberal diehards in the last few years which undoubtedly is a testament to his skill and their susceptibility to being easily triggered. Unlike some funny men, Burr is unafraid of tackling taboo subjects and he does it in a way that might leave some in the audience looking for the exits. (But they will likely be laughing on their out.) On Friday, March 14, Hulu will present an original stand-up special featuring Burr on subjects such as male sadness and dating advice. If you want to laugh while perhaps cringing a few times, this is your show. Debuts Friday, March 14.

Millie Bobby Brown and friends in Netflix’s The Electric State.

The Electric State – Netflix Original
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) returns to Netflixland in this sci-fi movie about a young woman who journeys across the American West to find her brother following a devastating war between humans and robots. Chris Pratt plays a smuggler who accompanies her. Directed by the Russo Brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War), The Electric State is sure to deliver top-notch action and every available CGI effect thanks to Netflix’s largesse. Debuts on Netflix on Friday, March 14.

Yellowstone fans should take note that Peacock will add the final episodes of the Paramount western series on Sunday.
